The email briefing

If you sign up, we keep your email address and whether you chose the daily or weekly briefing. We use them only to send you the briefing. You confirm your sign-up by clicking a link we email you (double opt-in).

Our email provider, Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, France), stores your address and sends the emails on our behalf. Brevo records opens and clicks so we can see which stories are useful.

You can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email; we then stop emailing you. You can also ask us to delete your data or send you a copy by emailing [contact email address].

Our lawful basis is your consent. We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.

The website

The site doesn't use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Saved stories and “most read” counts are stored only in your own browser. Story images load from the original publishers' websites, which may log that request as they would any visit.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can access, correct or delete your data, and object to its use. If you're unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
